Alhaji Adewale Musliu Sulaimon, popularly called, ‘Ola4’, a community leader and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu, has stated that the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Defense, Rep. Babajimi Benson, is a man of the people who is doing everything to develop Ikorodu.
The political leader, who spoke with THE IMPACT during the flag off of about four connecting roads(Dosunmu Alashe/Alhaji Ademoye/Igbamitayo/Olabinjo Streets) behind the Ikorodu Divisional Police Headquarters, on Saturday (yesterday), said that the drainage system constructed in the area during the Alhaji Lateef Jakande administration in Lagos State, has been the only government presence in the area.
“He is a man of the people. He has told us that he’s here to serve Ikorodu people and develop Ikorodu to a greater height, so, we are very grateful to Jimi Benson”, Alhaji Sulaimon said about the lawmaker.
“In fact, since the administration of late Alhaji Lateef Jakande who did the drainage system for us, no government that has done anything in this area. But we thank God that this development is coming in our own lifetime.
“We are very appreciative and delighted. In fact, you can ride horse freely inside me, because this tremendous work would elevate this area which is a major link road”.
He said that the road, when completed, will reduce traffic on Ireshe road and create another connecting road for motorists.
“You can easily connect it when there is traffic on Ireshe/Sheriff/Barracks road and it will link you to the post office or Ebute/Igbogbo road depending on your route”, he said.
“It will reduce the traffic on Ireshe road drastically”, he said.
He also commended the federal lawmaker for other roads as well as schools, sporting facilities and other projects that he has been facilitating across the Ikorodu Division.
“The implication of the road construction being facilitated by Hon. Babajimi Benson across the Ikorodu Division goes very far. He has proved it to Ikorodu people that aside from enacting laws, our representatives can also look back at home and facilitate infrastructural developments”, Alhaji Sulaimon said.
“He has done that at Igbe road which was abandoned for many years and forced many people to vacate their houses.
“Go to Shamsideen where he is also doing about five roads at the same time and by the time he finishes that one and this our own that he is flagging off today, we are sure that he will go to another part of the division for construction of more roads.
“He has also facilitated many schools across the division which is a major contribution to the educational sector.
“If you go to Ita – Elewa, you will see how the place has been beautified with massive sports facilities for our children. It is something that will caption the attention of anyone that visits that area”, he said.
