Chieftains and members of the Lantan Onanusi Chieftaincy family of Igbogbo in Ikorodu Division of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, on Friday, July 9, 2021, installed High Chief Tajudeen Alade Duduyemi Onasanya, the Odofin of Igbogbo, as their head.
Chief Onasanya hails from the Saaogun branch of the Lantan Onanusi chieftaincy family.
He was installed at the home of the former head of the Lantan Onanusi family at Itun – Abosan (Chief Osho – Ashafa) in the presence of chieftains and members of the three major branches of the family – Saaogun, Amoju and Jorobiogun.
High Chief Onasanya, until his installation as the overall head of the Lantan Onanusi family, was the head of the Saaogun branch of the family.
Speaking at the installation ceremony, Odofin Onasanya called for support and cooperation from every member of the family in bringing about development.
“My people should be proud of me as Olootu of Lantan. I seek for your support and charge us all to forget enmity.
“I will put my wealth of experience into advancing the course of the family.
“When our branch of the family, Saaogun was asked to present candidate, we returned to the family to make decision and the eldest in our family which is Elder Amos Oshin (Babas Asiri Abo) and other family chieftains signed that I should occupy the position”.
The new Olootu – General announced new members of his cabinet immediately after he was installed and charged them to be ready to work for the progress and development of the family.
After the installation, Chief Onasanya and his family members danced and later retired to his palace where they were entertained alongside other guests.
