The Igbogbo Beach Soccer Club (BSC) that represented the Ikorodu Division and Lagos State in the National Beach Soccer League (NBSL), on Sunday (yesterday), recorded its second win beating KADA (Kaduna) BSC in their third and the last match of the just concluded third round of the 2021 league in Kwara State.
Adeboruwa Boys defeated the winner in Group B, KADA BSC 6 – 5 at the Ahman Patigi University, Kwara State.
Unfortunately, the win was not enough as the Igbogbo team failed to qualify for the Super League, losing the second position on the 2021 league table to the official Lagos Beach team in the league, Smart City BSC, also called Zulu Boys.
With the win on Sunday, Igbogbo BSC garnered 12 points from 9 matches in the three rounds played in Lagos, Kebbi and Kwara States respectively.
The team recorded 3 normal wins, 1 win via Added on/ Extra Time (AET) and 1 win via penalty shootouts.
The team also lost 4 matches, scored 43 goals and conceded 37 goals with 6 goals difference.
In the second match in Kwara, the Igbogbo team defeated Smart City 5 – 4 away in a penalty shootouts after both teams played 6 – 6 in the regulation time of the match played on Saturday.
They also lost 4 – 5 to Edo BSC at home in their first match of the third round on Friday.
Meanwhile, the team manager of the Igbogbo BSC, Mr Ademola Ogunleye (Oruma), informed THE IMPACT that the team will be back in Igbogbo later today after the outing in Kwara.
While Kebbi BSC and Kwara BSC qualified for the Super League from Group A with 24 and 15 points respectively, KADA BSC and Smart City BSC qualified from Group B with 21 and 13 points respectively.
