Mathew Accepts Party Decision, Congratulates APC Favoured Candidate For Ikorodu North LCDA Chairmanship Position -

Hon. Mathew Alliu Adesanya, a Chairmanship aspirant for the Ikorodu North Local Council Development (LCDA) on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has accepted the party’s decision to pick the incumbent Chairman as the party’s candidate for the July 24 Local Government election.

THE IMPACT gathered that the incumbent Chairman of the council, Hon. Adeola Banjo, was presented with the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) form on Tuesday (today) alongside other aspirants favoured by the party.

THE IMPACT had reported that violence and other irregularities marred the primary election in four of the five Wards in Ikorodu North LCDA last weekend.

In a signed release, Hon. Mathew Adesanya said that the decision of the party to allow the incumbent to go for the second term is the wish of God and appealed to his supporters not to resort to self – help but accept the party’s position as supreme.

APC PRIMARY: IT IS VICTORY FOR THE PARTY

Fellow party men and women,

I want to call on all of us to remain calm. This is not a time to behave in any way other than to be peaceful.

We have fought gallantly. We have proved that Mathew Adesanya is a grassroots name in Ikorodu North LCDA.

The people spoke loud and clear.

Now, following the decision of the leadership of our party that all first term chairmen should be allowed to return for a second term, permit me to tell you that it is only the wish of God that will be done. So, we must not seek to do our own wish anymore.

Whatever happens, we must avoid violence and enmity. We must accept the decision of the party on these matters. So, in obedience to the directive of our party and the leaders, I congratulate my brother, Hon. Adebisi Adeola Banjo, on his return as the candidate of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the forthcoming council election in Ikorodu North LCDA.

And as a loyal party man who is dedicated to the service of the people, having vow to abide by the dictates of the party, I am equally saying that I am ready and willing to work hand in hand with the party’s candidate in whatever capacity.

So, we call on all members of the APC in Ikorodu North to accept the decision of the party and abide with it.

I want to thank all our supporters, starting from His Royal Highness Oba Kayode David Raji, the Eweye of Isiu, his chiefs, the Council of Baales in Ikorodu North, the men, women, and the youths of our great party, our Community Development Associations (CDAs), the Community Development Committee (CDC), market men and women and their leaders, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) led by its chairman and other executives, the Muslim Community under the leadership of the Chief Imam General, LASCOTA, other trade and artisan groups, students bodies, all ethnic support groups, and other individuals and groups too numerous to mention for your unwavering cherished supports.
