Leading aspirantss for the Chairmanship race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
across lkorodu Division have started accepting their party's decision to pick some aspirants as anointed candidates despite the violence and irregularities that trailed last Saturday's primary election of the party.
Few hours after the party presented the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms to favoured candidates across the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state on Tuesday (today), some of the aspirants have issued official statements to accept the decision of the party.
One of such aspirants is the former Council Leader of Ikorodu LG Legislative Arm, Hon. Azeez Jimoh Olosugbo, who, in a statement, said that he has obeyed the decision of the party and congratulated the incumbent Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina who is the party’s anointed candidate for the Ikorodu Local Government Chairmanship position.
The young aspirant, who said that he used his campaign to raise conversation about the development of Ikorodu, also charged Hon. Adeshina to see the need to adopt some of the issues raised in his agenda in repositioning Ikorodu for greatness.
The statement signed by Hon. Azeez Olosugbo is reproduced below:
“As a faithful and loyal member of our great party, All Prrogressives Congress (APC), l obey the party’s decision and congratulate Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adeshina.
“We have had honest conversations about the development of our beloved town and I hope you will listen to the genuine points and make them one of your cardinal agenda to improve our town, Ikorodu.
“My team and I want to use this medium to thank our loyal and faithful supporters who came out en masse to enable us achieve our goals for the good people of Ikorodu.
“The race to ‘REPOSITION Ikorodu for GREATNESS’ has begun and we will make it happen, Insha Allah.
“The party is supreme, they have spoken and I have listened.
“Once again, I congratulate Hon. Wasiu Adeshina and wish him well for peace and progress of Ikorodu and the party.
“To our esteem supporters, this is not time to fight or show hatred , we shall join hands in any capacity to offer and contribute our quota because it is about Ikorodu first, not personal agenda.
“I want to sincerely thank you and all those personally funded this project, we cherish your support. Modupe ooooooo.
“Ikorodu shall continue to be great.
