The Igbo Community in Ikorodu has pledged their support for the Chairmanship aspiration of Hon Azeez Jimoh Olosugbo in Ikorodu Local Government.
The aspirant, who has established good relationship with the community over the years, presented his agenda to the chieftains and representatives of market, farmers and other segments of the Igbo Community in Ikorodu last weekend.
Hon. Olosugbo, speaking earlier during the meeting with Igbo community, said that his government, if elected into the office, will give Igbos a sense of belonging.
While describing the lgbos as enterprising and industrious, he said that the Ikorodu Local Government, under his administration, will work closely with them to further develop Ikorodu’s economy.
Speaking on agricultural development, the aspirant who is also a farmer, said that the Igbos would play a critical role in that aspect.
“We have very good plans for agricultural development and this is another area where I know that Igbos are playing critical and significant roles. We shall partner with you and carry you along in bringing about food sufficiency in Ikorodu”, he said.
Speaking on his plan for security, Hon. Olosugbo said that his administration will work with the leadership of various ethic nationalities, unions and other critical stakeholders, including Igbo community, in ensuring that Ikorodu is safe and secure.
He pleaded with the chieftains and representatives of the Igbo people in Ikorodu, whom he said he shares closeness with more than any other aspirant, to support him and mobilize their people to give him a bloc vote during the primary and the Council elections.
Eze David Nwosu, a chieftain of the Igbo community, while giving his remarks and royal blessings, said that the aspirant is a promising young man who will use the office very well.
He also charged Hon. Olosugbo to fulfil his electoral promises when he gets into the office.
“I have listened to your electoral promises and they are all well articulated and very enterprising”, Eze Nwosu said.
“I have seen lots of promises in you. All your dreams shall come to pass.
“You promised not to forget the Igbos and don’t forget that you also promised sense of belonging in your government”.
While praying for the aspirant, the traditional ruler assured him that Igbo spirits will guide him to success.
“My blessings shall never go in vain over you. I will call to celebrate with you on May 29”, he prayed.
“Go on, the spirit of Igbos are with you”.
Another chieftain, Eze Polycap Osuona, said that the aspirant has been doing well, adding that he will perform better in office.
“You have been doing well and I assure that if you get into the office, you will surpass your predecessors”, he said.
“But do not forget all your promises to the Igbo people”.
The head of farmers, Igbo community, said that lgbo farmers will key into the agricultural policy of Hon Olosugbo if he becomes the chairman of Ikorodu Local Government.
Hon Chibisi Francis, House of Assembly candidate on the platform of the APC in Abia State in 2019, who said that Hon. Olosugbo is his childhood friend, pledged his support and that of the entire Igbo community in Ikorodu for his aspiration.

Linus Ekuma , Lolo Ngozi Ede, Dr. Nwokoni, Barrister Ezengwu, Chief Ifeanyi Sunday, Chief Nnnana, Pastor Erikposi Samuel, Mr Emeka Samuel, Princess Okpara Ifeoma, Confidence cold, High chief Okoema John, Chief Ozuome and Gbere Unabi John.
