Adeboruwa Boys were merciless in their final match of the second round of the just concluded National Beach Soccer League (NBSL) as the club crushed their Edo counterparts 7-2.
The team, which won all the three periods of the game on Saturday (yesterday), beat Edo BSC 3 – 1 in the first period, they led by 4 – 1 in the second period and went on to add three more goals in the third and the final period to end the match on a high, scoring 7 goals while their opponents scored a solitary goal in the first period.
In the other game in Group B, another Lagos team, Smart City BSC which Igbogbo BSC defeated on Friday, suffered a crushing defeat in the hands of the KADA BSC.
The were defeated 8 – 3 by the Kaduna Boys.
In the Group A final matches also played on Saturday, Kebbi BSC thrashed Badagry BSC, another Lagos team 7 – 2.
Kaduna BSC now top the Group B table with 18 points, winning 6 matches and scoring 28 goals while conceding 21.
Smart City is second with 9points, having won 3 matches and lost 3. The team scored 24 goals and conceded 24.
Igbogbo BSC stand in third position after 6 matches. The Adeboruwa Boys won 3 matches, scored 27 goals and conceded 21.
At the bottom of the table is Edo BSC which have lost all the six matches played so far, scoring 13 goals and conceding 36.
On the Group A Table, Kebbi BSC is leading with 15 points, having won 5 out of six matches played. They scored 27 goals and conceded 12.
Badagry BSC is second with 9 points, having won 3 of their six matches, scoring 18 goals and conceding 18 goals.
Kwara BSC is third on the log after winning 3 out of the from 6 matches played, scoring 14 goals and conceding 21while Anambra BSC is at the bottom of the table with 1 win, 3points, 8 goals in favour and 14 against.
Oghenovo Uzezi scored 4 goal while Legbe Tamara-Emi , Oluwa Kazeem and Iremitide Ayomide scored 1 goal each in the match.
According to the team’s Media Officer, Dolapo Ewulogbo, in his post- match review during an online chat with THE IMPACT, said that the Igbogbo team learnt their lesson in the first match which they lost and that, according to him, made them worked hard to win the next two matches.
“The Adeboruwa Boys learnt their lessons in a hard way by starting on a losing note in their first match but came back to win their second and third matches in the Round 2 of NBSL.
“The players followed the game plans and stuck to designated tasks given to them which gave them an edge against the Benin Boys, coupled with individual dexterity to knock down their opposition in all the match periods.
“They also set a record of the highest score line in NBSL 2021”, he said.
