While Muslims faithful around the world will be observing Eid-il-Fitri to mark the end of the Ramadan fasting on Thursday, May 13, the Igbogbo Beach Soccer Club (BSC), also known as the ‘Adeboruwa’ Boys, will play their first match in the second round of the 2021 National Beach Soccer League in Kebbi State against KADA (Kaduna) BSC.
Igbogbo BSC lost the first leg in the first round against KADA 3 – 4 at the Landmark Beach, Lagos.
The second match of the Adeboruwa Boys will be against Smart City BSC on Friday, May 14. The team also lost the first leg 2-3 at the Elegushi beach in Lagos.
Their third match will be played on Sunday, May 16 against Edo HFC BSC whom they beat 6-3 in the first first phase at the Elegushi beach.
The team left lgbogbo around 4am on Monday, May 10, and arrived at the Hajj Camp in Kebbi, exactly 2am on Tuesday (yesterday) morning.
According to the Media Officer of the team, Ewulogbo Dolapo (DD Dragon) in a chat with THE IMPACT, he said that the team arrived safely and that members are in good shape.
Speaking about the team’s journey, Ewulogbo said:
“As at 1pm yesterday, the team took off from Ilorin to Niger State and the journey took 7 hours. We reached Wara Town in Ngaski LGA, Kebbi State.
“From Wara LGA, it took us 70.5km to reach Yauri LGA and 217km from Yauri to Birnin Kebbi. The team and the crew arrived at the Hajj Camp at exactly 2am in the midnight”, he said.
“The team has settled down and are preparing for their matches in the NBSL second round ”, Ewulogbo said.
