One of the chairmanship aspirants for the Ikorodu Local government, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) , Hon. Azeez Abiodun Jimoh Olosugbo, has moved a step closer to achieving his dream with the collection of his party’s nomination form.
The aspirant, who submitted his letter of intention to the party last week and publicly declared his aspiration to his political family last weekend, today paid over N2million for the collection of the nomination form at the APC State Secretariat, ACME, Ikeja.
The collection of the form closes next week.
Speaking on phone with THE IMPACT after collecting the form, Hon. Olosugbo said that collection of the form is a further proof that he is serious about his ambition to clinch the chairmanship seat.
He also called on the stakeholders to support his aspiration in repositioning Ikorodu.
“I just collected my form from the state secretariat of our great party, APC. This is an official pact with my party that I will be running on its platform for the Local Government election in which I am seeking to become the chairman of Ikorodu Local Government”, he said.
“This is a pointer that we are serious young men and we really want to give the youths and the generality of Ikorodu people redirection towards the path to greatness.
“I am using this opportunity to call on our leaders, members and general stakeholders of our party to grant us their support. We are ready to work for them for the greatness of our party and Ikorodu Local Government”, he added.
Sources at the APC Secretariat in Ikorodu informed THE IMPACT that only the former Leader of the Legislative Arm of the Ikorodu LG has presented his form for the signature of the APC Ikorodu LGA Chairman.
Our reporter is yet to confirm if any of seven aspirants that are also jostling for the position have collected the party nomination form.
It was gathered that many Councillorship aspirants in Ikorodu LG have also obtained their nomination forms.
