Prospective candidates for the 2021 Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination for Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education, who benefited from the Free JAMB Forms and Computer Based Test training initiated and sponsored by the representative of Ikorodu Constituency I and the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, have commended the lawmaker for the exemplary gesture.
They also charged him not stop the annual educational support initiative for his constituents because, according to them, it is an impactful initiative that provides needed intervention for the youths, especially those that do not have support and lack capacity to sponsor their own education.
Some of those that spoke with THE IMPACT at the HOMAT Event Centre, venue of the distribution of the forms and CBT training, said that the gesture has given them the opportunity to sit for the 2021 JAMB examination despite that their parents do not have the financial capacity to sponsor them.
The beneficiaries also assured the four – term lawmaker that they will do everything to encourage him to do more in supporting educational development in Ikorodu Division by passing their JAMB examinations in flying colours.
The lucky beneficiaries of the Hon. Agunbiade’s free JAMB forms and CBT training cut across the six councils in Ikorodu Division.
Adeniyan Quadri, a resident of Ibeshe in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA who plans to study Law in Lagos State University, commended Hon. Agunbiade for supporting and protecting the right of a child to education.
He charged all the beneficiaries to work hard and do their best in the examination.
“Of course, it is indeed a great privilege for the fact that there are still people who are ready to exhibit that the right of every child to education is important”, he said.
“He is one of those people who are ready to make children feel that they can make it even when they don’t have the capacity to help themselves. It is a great opportunity and I feel happy to be one of the beneficiaries.
“I will advise everyone (beneficiaries) that we should try and put more effort to come out with flying colours because the JAMB form is free. We should just work and do well”, he charged.
Nurudeen Aisha, a resident of Aga in Ikorodu Local Government who wants to study Business Administration, said that he felt great about the lawmaker’s gesture.
“I feel so happy to be amongst those that were given free JAMB form. May Almighty God continue to bless him (Hon. Agunbiade)”.
Another beneficiaries, Quadri, a resident of lkorodu who plans to study Computer Science, said:
“Seriously, I feel happy because l have been trying to get this form a long time ago but for financial challenges. I have been working as a teacher and I have been financing myself.
“It was a great relief when I heard about the free JAMB forms and I applied for it.
“They should continue to give out free forms because of others that cannot afford it and on our part, we should also encourage the sponsors by passing the examination”.
Another beneficiary, Miss Mutiat Oladele, a resident of Igbogbo in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area who wants to study Mass Communication, said that she is excited about the opportunity to write JAMB this year courtesy of Hon. Agunbiade.
“I am so excited about this opportunity. Hon. Agunbiade has really tried for us. He shall not lack anything”, she prayed.
Mubarak Sodiq, a resident of Ladega in Ikorodu LG who want to study Computer Engineering in Lagos State University, said:
“I am very excited and don’t even know what to say because it is a relief for my parents. For me, my mother doesn’t have any money and I had sat for the JAMB examination before. It was my sister that told me about this and l applied through someone.
“I really thank Hon. Agunbiade and he should continue doing this”.
Ismail Temitope, a prospective Accountancy student who also resides in Igbogbo in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, said that he’s delighted about the opportunity provided by the lawmaker and pledged to be the best student in the examination.
“Well, I will say I feel so delighted because I am among those that have been given free JAMB forms. I am already working hard to be the best student in the exam”, he said.
A resident of Itamaga in Ikorodu LG, Ayandeji Mistura who is planning to study Public Administration, while expressing her happiness, said that she was planning to get the form when she heard that Hon. Agunbiade is supporting intending JAMB candidates and she applied for it.
“Well, I am happy about it because I was about to obtain the form when I heard about this. I am really happy to be one of the beneficiaries”.
Princess Ali, a resident of Igbe who want to study Medical Laboratory, said that she was happy about the free JAMB form.
Segun Oladipupo from Ibeshe in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA who intends to study Business administration, also stated:
“I feel great and I thank God that I was chosen”.
A resident of Ikorodu Garage in lkorodu Local Government, Miss Mariam Omolabake, also speaking with THE IMPACT, said:
“I feel happy and great and I will try my best to be the best student in the exam”.
Kashimawo Micheal, who also resides in Igbogbo and intending to study Political Science, said:
“It is okay and it’s fine. This is very encouraging and a way to support our educational development”.
A resident of Ayangbure area of Ikorodu LG, Okolo Toheeb who also wants to study Political Science, commended the lawmaker for his quality representation and developmental work in Ikorodu.
“I feel great and I really appreciate Hon. Agunbiade. He has been doing a great job for lkorodu”.
Muhammad Nofisat, an intending Insurance student who also spoke with our reporter, said that she and other beneficiaries will not disappoint the trust that the lawmaker has in them for extending the gesture to them.
“The gesture is good because it is encouraging and we promise not to disappoint him, especially myself.
Omolara Temitope, a resident of Ijomu in Ikorodu LG who intends to study Nursing in Lagos State University, also said:
“Actually, l am happy because l did JAMB last year and l scored 237, but I was given another course which is very expensive to study. So, for me to be among the beneficiaries of this gesture, l am very happy and l pray Almighty Allah to continue to bless him (Hon. Agunbiade) and his team.
“I also want to appeal to them that they should continue this empowerment and should not relent”, she added.
Abiyooluwa Mary, a resident of Igbogbo who wants to study Medical Laboratory Science, also said:
“I really appreciate the gesture and l want to encourage fellow beneficiaries to do well in the exam. This will encourage the Honourable and his team to do more.
“I plead with them that they should continue the programme because there are many out there that cannot afford to buy the form”.
Also, Abisoye, an intending Political Science student of the University of Ilorin who reside at Igbe Laara, said:
“I am so happy to be part of the people collecting these free JAMB forms.
“God will continue to bless Hon. Agunbiade’s home, family, and also every member of his team”.
Oreoluwa Martins, resident of Erunwen in lkorodu Local government who wants to study Computer Science, said:
“I say a big thank you to the sponsor and l want them to continue the programme”.
Another beneficiary, Ayomide who resides in Igbogbo and intending to study Accountancy, said:
“I am so grateful for what they have done and I appreciate them. They should continue and keep on doing well”.
Michael, a resident of Ita – Olu in Ikorodu North LCDA who wants to study Mass Communication at Olabisi Onabanjo University, said:
“It’s okay, nice and encouraging. They should continue with it”.
