Youths in Ijede, on Easter Sunday (yesterday), gave residents of the ancient town and visitors a treat that they would not forget in a hurry as they organised a beach party not at just any location but at the site of a state – recognized historical site, Odoro river.
Old and young, traditional and community leaders, community and political activists as well as visitors and tourists alike trooped to the beach which sprung to life within three weeks after years of abandonment.
Several hawkers of refreshments like drinks, food and others also had a field day as they enjoyed unlimited patronages from fun seekers that trooped to the beach to have a memorable Easter celebration.
Our roving cameraman was at the fulfilled outing and captured some of the exciting moments which we produced below for our readers’ delight.
