-Recover arms, charms, phones
Operatives of the Lagos State Police attached to Ikorodu Division, at about 11. 30pm on Friday, March 26, 2021, arrested three (3) suspected traffic robbers, including their accomplice (receiver) , at the Ikorodu garage roundabout.
The operatives, which included men of the Nigerian police and local vigilante, also recovered stolen phones from the arrested suspects.
According to the Lagos Police Command, the security personnel, who were on patrol, sighted and arrested the suspects at the Ikorodu Round About while they were allegedly robbing innocent commuters and passers-by in the area.
Suspects arrested are Lucky Isibor, 34, Isah Mohammed, 26, and Aminu Abdullahi, 21.
Items recovered from them included eleven (11) phones, One Hundred and Thirty Nine Thousand (#139,000), BRT Cowry Card, black bag containing assorted charms and weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.
The police, in its release, stated that during interrogation, it was discovered that one of the suspects, Lucky Isibor, doubles as a receiver of the items stolen by his fellow traffic robbers.
Meanwhile, the same operatives, on Friday, March 25, 2021, at about 6.50pm, also arrested one Emmanuel James of No 27, Hassan Street, Rofo, Odogunyan, Ikorodu.
According to report, Emmanuel confessed to be a member of the Aye Confraternity.
Items recovered from the suspected cultist included one locally-made cut-to-size gun, three (3) live cartridges, one blue beret with Eye Confraternity inscription, two (2) bottles of Six Flower Perfume and assorted charms.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has commended the efforts of the policemen and the vigilante men for the arrests.
He ordered that the suspects should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba,Lagos, for proper investigation and possible prosecution.
While assuring Lagosians of adequate security of lives and property in the state, CP Odumosu vowed to make Lagos State uncomfortable for criminals.
