His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu and the First Vice Chairman, Lagos State Council of Obas & Chiefs, has publicly announced his support for the 2023 Presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The royal father made his support known during his special appearance on IKD 106.1FM on Saturday, March 20, 2021, alongside the initiator/founder of the radio station, Rep. Babajimi Benson.
Oba Shotobi, while stating that he’s not a member of any political party but that he is concerned about governance in his domain and the country at large, joined many groups and prominent individuals that have been clamouring and campaigning for Asiwaju Tinubu, the former Governor of Lagos State and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), despite that he’s yet to publicly announce that he would be running for the position.
Speaking during his special appearance on the radio, Oba Shotobi commended Tinubu for grooming Rep. Benson, who is a two – term federal lawmaker, to be what he described as a “wonderful son of the soil who is making Ikorodu proud”.
“I am not a politician but I have a say in politics and governance of our town, state and the country at large”, Oba Shotobi said.
“As the father of all, I want something good for my town and for the country.
“What Tinubu is aiming at he will get it. Our gods and all the witches will grant him the request.
“His Presidential ambition will be fulfilled”, he prayed.
The Ayangbure of Ikorodu also congratulated Asiwaju Tinubu on his forthcoming birthday on behalf of the entire traditional rulers in Ikorodu Division and its people.
Rep Benson, also speaking on air, thanked the royal father for acknowledging and commending the efforts of Asiwaju Tinubu in grooming and developing him and also for congratulating him on his forthcoming birthday.
