It was a day of honour for Mrs Maria Ashabi Faniyi, popularly called , ‘Iya Elepo’, a senior member of the the United African Methodist Church (UAMC), Eleja, Igbogbo, on Saturday, March 6, 2021, as children, family members and friends gathered to celebrate her 70th birthday anniversary.
The celebrant is a devoted Christian, lovable mother and popular community woman.
The party held at her home at Ayegbami in Igbogbo was attended by the chieftains of the Olu – Odo family, Providence Society, Ladies Christian Guild, Yewa Sisters Club, De – Vanguard and players of the All Stars FC among others.
Alhaji Olwale Amusa, the Chief Executive Officer of HOMAT Groups of Schools, lgbogbo, who coordinated the cake cutting, described the celebrant as a good mother and great community woman who honours and respects everyone.
The educationist wished the celebrant long life in good health and happiness.
A chieftain of Olu – Odo family of Igbogbo, Elder Olusola Faniyi, in his own remarks, said that the celebrant has been a good wife to his late brother (late Chief Faniyi) and the family at large.
Also, the representative of the Providence Society, Mrs Aderonke, while speaking about the celebrant, described her as epitome of respect, honour and care.
Mrs Eyikogbe, who spoke on behalf of Yewa Ladies, stated:
“She’s a wonderful woman, soft spoken and doesn’t get angry at all. She always looks out for people and shows care for everyone. She is a great woman that always looks for peace wherever she is”.
Another representative of the Yewa Ladies in her tributes, said:
“She’s a lovable woman, very caring and supportive. A very good friend”.
