The Chairman of the Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NiD – COM), Hon. Abike Dabiri – Erewa, has commended people for understanding the need for the ongoing revalidation and registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
She also expressed her happiness for successfully revalidating her own membership of the party while speaking with THE IMPACT on Thursday (today) at the Home Economic Centre in Ikorodu where she took part in the exercise.
Hon. Abike revalidated her party’s membership with her husband, Mr Erewa.
“It is simple and straight forward. I can see the enthusiasm of Ikorodu people to join APC and l am glad to have been able to do the same thing” she said after revalidating her membership in Ikorodu.
“There is a lot of work to do ahead and our party is preparing ahead. The process is just seamless and people are just coming in to get their registration done.
“And I hope that people understand the implications of joining the party? You pay your dues and become co – owner of the party. I am glad that the grassroots is fully really involved in the registration”, Hon. Abike said.
While urging those who are yet to register to do so, the former three – term Federal lawmaker also stated that APC is the only party in the country that they can identify with.
“Well, I am sure they will revalidate. Just go ahead to revalidate and register your membership, because this is the only party to build Nigeria today. So, they should go ahead to do their membership revalidation and register as a member of APC.
“There is a need to get involved politically considering what is going on around us, especially the young ones. Even if you don’t want to join the APC, you should form your own party and be a part of what is going on. Decide who leads you and you yourself must also come out to occupy positions if you think that you are responsible and capable enough. It’s our lives and our destinies and we all must protect it. It is our decision to take”.
