The Adeboruwa of lgbogbo, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, has stated that the traditional institutions in lkorodu division are working with the councils in ensuring that necessary things are put in place for proper Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) in the division.
Oba Kasali, while speaking with THE IMPACT after the weekly meeting at the Adeboruwa palace, also charged the Lagos State House of Assembly to be guided by history and wise counsel in reviewing the State’s five divisional structure which has generated so much controversies.
He assured the officials of the National Population Commission of necessary support and cooperation from the traditional institutions and council areas in the division.
“We are doing everything in Igbogbo to accommodate the officials of the National Population Commission (NPC) who are sent to carry out the demarcation exercise in preparation for the census proper.
“They have also met with all the traditional rulers in the division at the Ayangbure palace where they told us what they want and we have assured them of our cooperation and support”.
The monarch also said that the palace is liaising with the Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area authority in ensuring that the exercise is properly done in Igbogbo and its environs.
“We are not leaving any stone unturned in making the exercise reflect and capture adequately our number in Ikorodu. The Council Chairman and his team have come to brief me on its efforts so far in ensuring that the exercise go smoothly here”, Kabiyesi said.
The former State Counsel turned First Class royal father charged residents of Igbogbo to cooperate and support the NPC enumerators when they come to their areas.
On the controversial proposed bill aimed at reviewing the five divisions that made up of Lagos State in which Kosofe and Shomolu are recommended to be merged with the Ikorodu Division, Oba Kasali briefly said:
“Well, I just want to say that our lawmakers should be properly guided by history and wise counsel”.
