The Ijede General Hospital, on Thursday, January 28, 2021, recorded a successful and historic birth of a set of triplets, the first of its kind since the establishment of the hospital about four decades ago.
The consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist, General Hospital, Ijede, Dr. Babatope Oni, said the mother, Mrs. Balikis Arobieke, was delivered of a male and two female babies at 12.20, 12.21 and 12.22 pm through a caesarian section, weighing 2.2kg, 2.7kg and 2.3kg respectively.
The Medical Director/CEO, General Hospital, Ijede, Dr. Olufunmilayo Bankole, expressed profound joy over the landmark achievement, attributing the feat to the investment in qualitative healthcare delivery by the GovernorBabajide Sanwo-Olu led administration.
He congratulated the parents of the triplets and assured the mother of adequate post-natal care and more qualitative healthcare for the babies.
Also, Dr. Oni said his team, which included Dr. Omolola James (Surgeon), Dr. Rafiat Obani (Anaesthetics) and CNO Harriet Kelani (Nurse), that took the delivery of the triplets, was full of gratitude to God and the State Government for its commitment towards improving quality healthcare delivery in the State.
