A media outfit, Ikorodu News Network (INN), has honoured some notable individuals with Recognition awards in appreciation of their contributions and support for the development of the news media platform and society at large.
In a statement issued by Mr Eromona Michael, the Coordinator of INN, the presentation of the 2020 Recognition awards to notable personalities started mid – 2020 with Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru (Chairman Ikorodu Oga Development Association IKODASS), Builder Sesan Daini, Chairman, igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba , Vice Chairman Ikorodu LGA and Alhaji Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa, Chairman Ikorodu Development Resource Group, as the first set of personalities to be presented with the awards.
Others that were presented with the awards were Bishop Olufemi Otusanya Festus (Omo Majemu), True Covenant Church Of God, Ikorodu, Mr Fola Tinubu, Managing Director, Primero Transport Limited, Alhaji Amusa M.T Olawale (Proprietor HOMAT Group of Schools), Mr Emadomi Wilson a.k.a Ratata of the WAZOBIA FM, the presenter of Radio Lesson, Hon Rotimi Balogun Olatunbosun, and Hon Oluwatosin Onamade.
According to Eromona, the award was presented to the dignitaries, political leaders and leaders in other areas of human endeavours within and outside Ikorodu Division to honour those making impacts across different fields and encourage them to do more for the development of Ikorodu.
“We started this INN Recognition award in 2019 and due to its success, we decided to continue in 2020, but our mode of presentation changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic which is still ravaging the country”, he said.
“There were few personalities that were recognised in 2019 and also recognised again in 2020, simply because the 2020 edition can better be considered as a breakthrough and huge take – off point for us.
“Knowing fully well that we cannot take this platform to the level it has attained presently alone, the awards were also meant to exalt some persons in Ikorodu Division for playing key roles in the growth and developmental process of INN as a media platform and making it a platform to be identified with today.
“We intend to continue with this tradition and honour those at the forefront of impacting the communities positively on an annual basis while we will also continue to strive to offer better services in the dissemination of news and information as well as events coverage which we are known for”.
