Hon. Nurudeen Alimi, the Council Leader of the Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has laid the foundation for the construction of the Offin -Ile Central market which he facilitated from the Lagos State Government.
The foundation laying ceremony, which, according to report, was approved by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, and many others across Ward C3 in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, which he represents, was held on Monday, December 21, 2020.
The Council lawmaker has also rolled out his scorecard as the representative of Ward C3 (Bayeku, Offin and Oreta communities) in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA of Ikorodu division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, in the last three years.
“This is going to be a marathon project. It is an achievement and joy to the good citizens of Ward C3, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA. The project which was approved by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was facilitated by me as a project that my constituents requested for.
“Offin – Ile Central market is a special government’s Ward project, facilitated by me. The full construction commenceimmediately and will be completed in January 2021″.
Speaking with THE IMPACT, Hon. Alimi who is also the President of the National Councilors’ Forum of Nigeria, also revealed that he will hold a stakeholders’ meeting in his Ward in the next few days.
“Ward C3 6th stakeholders’ meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at the Baale’s Palace, Offin – Ile, by 10am”, he said.
Unveiling the account of his stewardship, Hon. Alimi stated that he has impacted on infrastructural, educational, community and other aspects of Ward C3 since he was given the people’s mandate over three years ago.
“I have constructed 8 deep – well across my ward.
“I constructed drainage of 401ms at Surulere Street, Offin, to allow for the passage of waste water.
“I have donated educational aid materials and equipment across the three (3) primary schools in Ward C3.
“As a Councilor representing Ward C3, I have also given cash support to CDAs for community projects”, he said.
He also stated that:
“Since my inception, I have organized free medical outreach and also gave out eye glasses to hundreds of people across my constituents, a programme which has been commended for its impacts on the beneficiaries.
“Also, as part of my youth development agenda, I have successfully organized two editions of the ‘BOOOK’ Soccer tournament in honour of five of our political leaders – Basorun, Ogunleye, Ogunlewe, Olowu and Kaoli.
“We just concluded the second edition of the soccer tournament in which we engaged youths for months playing preliminary, knockout, quarter, semi and final matches.
He also added that he facilitated the palliative work on the Offin/Oreta road.
Hon. Alimi also revealed his plans for his people in 2021.
“I have pledged to do concrete poles for residents of Ago – Egun in Oreta community. This will be fulfilled latest February 2021”, he said.
“Hon. Alimi empowerment project will also hold in February 2021. The forms have already been distributed to beneficiaries which cut across my constituency”, he revealed.
“Talent / Brain hunt will be held in January2021. We have already dolled our forms to participating students in Ward C3″.
In the areas of health and security, Hon. Alimi also stated that he has planned to construct three additional admission rooms to the existing ones at the Primary Health Centre in Offin – Ile as well as assist the community in upgrading its police post.
“I have also pledged to donate three admission rooms to Offin – Ile Health Post and also help in upgrading it to Health Centre by January 2021.
“In the same vein, I also plan to have a sensitisation programme on domestic violence across Ikorodu division and this is scheduled to hold in February 2021″.
