A non – governmental organization, Oval Leadership Foundation, founded in 2016 with the aim of touching lives, raising awareness for volunteerism and developing leadership, has concluded plans to distribute relief materials to residents of Ikorodu during this festive season.
The organization, which focuses on impacting on the society with provision of food, education, environment and health, is targeting residents of Itunmori in Ikorodu for 2020 December Food Outreach.
According to the statement signed by Obaseki Gino and Moral Sheryl, the economic impact of the novel Coronavirus on the rural populace that currently lives below $1 is overwhelming with many parents getting laid off from their menial jobs and traders not making enough as they used to.
The organisers further stated that they are encouraged to embark on this year’s December Food Outreach to help cushion the effect of the current economic hardship on members of the Itumori Community.
“We look forward to sharing relief packs to the community members of Itumori community in lkorodu and unlike past years, this year’s outreach is a FULL COMMUNITY IMPACT OUTREACH tagged, “December for Our Mothers”.
“Asides food distribution, we would have children engagements, environmental clean-up and medical outreach”.
According to the organisers, the outreach was able to reach out to 5000 people in Lagos Mainland Local Government Area (Ilaje slum, Makoko, Oko – baba, and Oke-Olu in Ebute Metta) in December 2019.
Meanwhile, Oval Leadership Foundation has appealed to the general public for support to enable them reach and impact on the targeted residents. The group can be reached on 08124690024 or 08032469607.
