The Vice Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Asipa of Ikorodu Kingdom, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, has stated that he has no palliative stored in his house and school contrary to the rumour making the rounds that he hoarded palliatives in his school, Kith and Kin Schools.
It was gathered that a rumour is currently being peddled by some unknown people that palliatives meant for the people are being rebranded with the sticker of the APC Lagos East Senatorial candidate, Mr Adetokunbo Abiru, inside Asipa Kaoli and Hon Abike Dabiri – Erewa’s houses at Owode and Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Ikorodu respectively.
In a disclaimer sent to THE IMPACT, Asipa Kaoli denied the claim and described it as fallacious.
He also stated that he invited the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ipakodo Police Station, who responded promptly and conducted him round his house without discovering anything of such.
“The satanic agents are at work again. I received a fallacious claim that palliatives are being branded in Kith & Kin School with Abiru’s brand”, he said.
“I unequivocally deny the claim and of course, it is far from the truth. The intention of the authors of the FAKE NEWS is to incite violence and another round of chaos and panic in Ikorodu”, the political leader added.
“I immediately invited the DPO Ipakodo who promptly responded and we went round the school on inspection.
“Video recordings were shot and alas no trace of any palliative. Rather, all we saw were students in classes, halls and in the laboratories taking their end of the term examination”.
Asipa Kaoli reiterated his commitment to supporting the development of youths and helping them achieve their dreams.
“I implore all good citizens and our responsible youths and youth organizations to help keep the peace.
“I wish to reiterate my availability and readiness to work with our youths and youth organizations to initiate and work on new changes and opportunities for the improvement of our community. So help me God”, he said.
An aide to the Chairman, Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri – Erewa, also denied the allegation.
He asked residents to disregard the rumour as work of political detractors.
It would be recalled that a tweet of that nature was tweeted and sent as messages to residents of Ikorodu weeks ago, a situation which consequently led to the invasion of the houses of Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, Alhaji Musliu Animashaun, Princess Adenrele Ogunsanya and Alhaji Omotayo Olufowora.
The home of Hon. Agunbiade, the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the representative of the Ikorodu Constituency I, was the most affected. It was hugely vandalized while properties worth millions of naira were destroyed and carted away by the invaders most of whom were armed hoodlums.
The facility where he stored food items that he purchased to be distributed to about 800 residents and those given to him by the state government as palliatives was also looted.
Hoodlums that invaded Alhaji Musliu Animashaun’s house also burnt his two vehicles and ransacked his Anibaba home. Another property belonging to the politician at Anibaba was also attacked and badly damaged.
Same treatment was meted to Alhaji Olufowora whose house also located at Anibaba was attacked and his car badly smashed by the irate hoodlums.
