The discourse on the Ikorodu Division’s socio – economic and political relevance could not have come at a better time than now that the Division is trying to exert her status among the five divisions in Lagos State.
The much discussed issue will be the focal point for discussion at the Ikorodu-Oga Day 2020 Public Lecture slated for 11.00am tomorrow, Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the Ikorodu Town hall.
Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), a socio – cultural group under the Chairmanship of Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru, is organizing the lecture as part of its 2020 celebration of the Ikorodu – Oga Day celebration and as part of its contributions to the social, economic and political developments of Ikorodu Division.
Former Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. (Barr.) Ola Animashaun, will be the guest speaker at the lecture themed, “Ikorodu – Double Pursuit of Socio – Economic Relevance”.
Prof. (Chief) Kunle Ade Wahab, OFR, OON, the Professor Emeritus, is expected to chair the lecture event.
Sen. (Otunba) Seye Ogunlewe, former Minister for Works, Dr Surajudeen Mudashiru, associate Professor of Political Science, Lagos State University (LASU), and Comrade Olalekan Biliamin Oba, Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State, are scheduled to discuss the issue.
The socio – cultural group had during the week presented school uniforms and bursary awards to 120 pupils in three schools in Ikorodu Constituency I and also commissioned borehole water projects with generators in another three schools, as parts of the activities marking the 2020 Ikorodu-Oga Day celebration.
