Kunle Adelabu
The immediate past Principal, Offin –Ile Junior Secondary School, Igbogbo in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and a Director in the Ministry of Education, Mrs Abimbola Ibironke Akande, has retired after 35 years of active and meritorious service to Lagos State.
She officially exited the teaching service on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at a grand event held within her home premises behind the Government Technical College, Ikorodu.
The peak of the ceremony was the presentation of Toyota Tundra Pickup vehicle to the retiree by her fulfilled husband, Mr Akande, as a retirement gift.
At the grand reception to rejoice and celebrate with the Mrs Akande and her family were serving and retired School Principals/Administrators, senior education officers, retired civil servants, teachers, friends and family members.
The occasion also featured a testimony session during which the colleagues of the retired Principal took turns to eulogize and commended her good deeds.
Also at the event, the retiree was inducted into the Association of Retired Principals of Secondary Schools of Nigeria (ARPSSON).
Some of the guests at the event were Alhaji Lanre Kuye, Director of Information and Publications, Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Mr Steven Adesemoye, a Broadcast teacher, LASPOTECH, Mr Ahmed, a retired senior Education Officer, and Mr Segun Bankole, a serving civil servant.
Also at the event were Mrs Kara F.B, Principal, Bayeku Community Senior School, Igbogbo, Mrs Aremu Akibu, former ANCOPS Chairperson (retired), Pastor Stephen Oyekan, Pastor (Mrs) Blessing Daniel, Pastor Yemisi Enasobo, Mrs Ogunbiyi E. O, Principal, Offin – Ile Junior Secondary School, Igbogbo, Evangelist Chidi Nnnanta, Pastor Peter Abereoje and Mrs Obiesan.
