The acting Rector of the Lagos State Polytechnic, Mr Olumide Metilelu, has disclosed that the foremost institution of technology in Nigeria is ready for collaboration in its efforts to impact on the larger society.
Mr Metilelu said that the institution has many services and products that can benefit the people and improve the institution’s capacity in is remarks at the Ikorodu Constituency I Stakeholders’ Meeting held at the 700 – Seater Hall, Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu Permanent campus, on Thursday, October 29,2020.
.“We want to collaborate with our host community in a way that will be mutual beneficiary to both. We have services and products that we have developed and that can impact on the larger society”.
He said that the LASPOTECH Entrepreneurship school, which is training students to have other skills and learn business techniques, is also available to partner with individuals and groups in its aim at empowering youths and others and making them economically engaged.
“Secondly, we have an entrepreneurship centre where students are being trained in various skills and imparted with business sense.
“We are ready to work with Hon. S.O.B. Agunbiade and see what we can do to continue to empower our people and prevent them from constituting nuisance in our society”.
While announcing that the institution is looking for distributors for its bread, the acting Rector also disclosed that LASPOTECH water will be out in commercial quantity starting from next month.
“We are also involved in some businesses which we are trying to push further. We have LASPOTECH bread which is incomparable in the state. You can hear Hon. Agunbiade testifying to it”, he said.
“We want distributors for our bread across the length and breadth of the state.
“Another brand, LASPOTECH water, will be out next month. We want to find means as a Polytechnic to deliver our own sources of revenue since the government alone cannot provide all that we want”.
