-Ipakodo #EndSARS protesters still defying curfew order
While most residents have obeyed the order of the Lagos State Government regarding the declaration of a 24 – hour curfew as #EndSARS protest turned violent in the state, few others found ways around it as they went about their daily affairs in violation of order.
Our reporter, who went round three Council areas in Ikorodu Division reported that all was calm in many areas visited.
Our reporter, while monitoring events around the , observed that there was no presence of security agents on major roads and streets visited, except in front of various Police Stations and Ikorodu garage roundabout.
Mobile Police officers were also seen cordoning off the Awolowo road in Igbogbo where the MOPL 16 office and Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area Secretariat are located and were not allowing anybody to pass through.
Security officers were also stationed at the Ikorodu Police Divisional Headquarters preventing motorists and okada riders from passing through the road.
Area boys were also seen at different locations – Ijomu Primary School axis of the Ikorodu – Igbogbo roads, Sheriff junction, Igbogbo Cemetery area – Ipakodo road, blocking roads and collecting money from motorists and okada riders.
When our reporter visited the #EndSARS protest ground at Police Post in Ipakodo, protesters were still occupying the point and were not allowing any vehicle or motorcycle to pass through.
Major roads that usually experience high traffic and economic activities like Ikorodu – Igbogbo road, Ota – Ona road, Awolowo way, Ireshe road, Oriwu road, Owolowo road, Ayangbure road, TOS Benson- Beach road and NBC road were largely deserted when our reporter went round today.
Also, people were seen at some junctions and areas gathered in groups and discussing the development in the country.
