Adeboruwa Charges #EndSARS Protesters To Be Peaceful

His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, has charged youths participating in the #EndSARS protest in Igbogbo to do so within the confine of the Nigeria Constitution.

The royal father, who took time out of his birthday prayers to address the leadership of the youths participating in the #EndSARS protest in Igbogbo at the Adeboruwa palace on Tuesday (today), also enjoined them to adhere strictly to the 24 – hour curfew declared by the Lagos State Government.

He informed the protesters that religious leaders invited to his birthday prayer have prayed for the country and the youths.

While extending his support for what the youths are protesting against, the royal father, who is a retired State Counsel, also charged them not to attack or destroy any public property.

“We are with you in our prayers and we have also been praying for the country. We all want change but we must do that within the confine of the law so as not to breach the constitution.

“Government has listened to your demands and we are sure that they will put machinery in motion to implement them”.

He also charged them to stay off the road by 4. 00pm in accordance with the directive on the curfew declared today by the government.

“You must also ensure that you suspend everything that you are doing by 4pm and stay off the street in accordance with the curfew.

“I don’t want you to have confrontation with the law enforcement agencies. I don’t want to lose any of you. Please, stay off the streets”, the royal father pleaded.

The protesters, represented by Dolapo Ewulogbo popular known as ‘ Dphee Tha Dragon’and Segun, had informed Oba Kasali that they joined their counterparts in Ikorodu and other parts of the state to protest against police brutality and bad governance.

They also stated that they want police officers extorting motorists along Igbogbo road to stop forthwith, while also asking the royal father to tell them not to attack their peaceful protest.
