The Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the representative of the Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. Sanai Agunbaide, has hailed Nigeria as it clocked 60 as a sovereign nation.
Hon. Agunbiade also greeted Nigerians in his Independence Day’s statement.
Though, he expressed disappointment over the state of the country, Agunbiade added that it’s never too late for the country and its citizenry to chart another course towards greatness.
“It is 60 whole years after we got Independence from our erstwhile colonial rulers. But how independent are we as a people?
“How I wished we are truly independent from colonial configurations and justice is actually our watchword.
“How I wished we are truly united even though our tribe and tongue may differ.
“How I wished the labour of our heroes’ past are firmly holding the fabrics of the nation together.
“I pray we love in truth and indeed for generations yet unborn to have a nation to sustain, and we all have a future to live for.
“Nothing is late to achieve or accomplish. Nigeria we hail thee at 60 and always. Happy celebration”.
