Alhaja Abiodun Serifat Ogunniyi, who entered the Lagos State Civil Service in 1985 as a teacher in the premier college in Ikorodu Division, Oriwu College (now Oriwu Senior Model College), has successfully retired as a Principal of the same school.
It was a deserving Pen’s Down ceremony as royal fathers, eminent personalities, top civil service functionaries, teachers, students and former students among many others graced the memorable event held at the Oriwu Model College, Ikorodu.
Tributes were showered on the retired school administrator, teacher of teachers, Principal of Principals, Community Developer and a Seasoned Manager of men and resources who, through her administrative competence, placed Oriwu Model College on the national, continental and global reckoning as one of the foremost schools in Nigeria and Africa.
Among eminent personalities that graced the occasion were the Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, (NIDCOM), and former three – term Federal lawmaker who represented the Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives of the National Assembly in Abuja, Hon. Abike Dabiri – Erewa, former Commissioner for Information, Lagos and the Agbaakin of Ikorodu Kingdom, Sir (Otunba) Ayodele Elesho, a chieftain of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group, Engr. Luqman Erogbogbo, Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Area, Hon. Fathiu Salisu and National President, Oriwu College Old Students’ Association of Nigeria (OCOSAN), Engr. Charles Longe, Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Area, Hon. Fathiu Salisu, former The Tutor-General/Permanent Secreyary, Education District I and II, Mr. Olusanya Ebenezer Abayomi, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), ikorodu branch, Comrade Oluwafemi Fakolade among many others.
