The Imota Students’ Union (lSU) the umbrella body of all the students in Imota, is planning a 4 – day activity to celebrate its annual week which has been described as the biggest annual programme of the body.
In a release on Monday, September 7, 2020, signed by the President, Imota Students’ Union, Comrade Owoyele Luqman Oladapo and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for ISU Week 2020, Comrade Adebogun Oriyomi Modupe, it was stated that this year’s edition of the students’ week may take another shape due to the COVID – 19 pandemic.
According to body, the theme for this year’s Week is, “Connecting the Dots”, which the organizers said that they, “intend to use to employ education, practical agricultural practices as antidote to Social Vices.”
ISU Week 2020, which is scheduled for November 16 – 21, will feature programmes like Free Medical Checkup & Enlightenment Exercise, Jamb Form Scholarship Aptitude Test, Talent Hunt: Art & Science Exhibition and Youth Educational Symposium (YES 2020).
“ISU Week 2020 will commence on the 16th of November and ends on the 21st of November 2020. However, in consideration of the effect of the pandemic, we have to reduce this year’s activities to 4 days instead of the normal 7 – day activities”, the statement said.
They body commended the efforts of its usual sponsors, and also seized the opportunity to call for more sponsorship and partnership from individuals and corporate organizations within and outside the community.
“We want to sincerely appreciate all our sponsors for their ceaseless support thus far, and we implore them for more.
“Also, we want to call on both individuals and corporate organizations within and outside the community to support and partner with us so that together, we can make a lasting impact on the student and youth population within the community.”
