Delegates from five Local Governments in the Lagos East Senatorial District are currently voting in the primary exercise to pick the party’s candidate for the Lagos East senatorial bye-election slated for October 31, 2020.
The five Council Areas are Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju Lekki, Kosofe and Shomolu
As at the time of filing in this report, delegates from Epe are voting while Shomolu, Ibeju Lekki had competed theirs.
The Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ikorodu, Mr Femi Adinlewa speaking with THE IMPACT said that delegates are voting immediately they are accredited.
Four candidates were screened and cleared for the primary election by the national secretariat of the party in Abuja.
Three of the candidates, Mr Olalere Gbadamosi, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi and Princess Saidat Odofin Fafowora, are from Ikorodu LGA, while the fourth, Mr Babatunde Olanrewaju Moshood, is from Epe LGA.
In a statement posted from the venue of the primary election, Mr Mukaila Ajagun Lamina, a former aspirant for the Ikorodu Constituency I seat, Lagos State House of Assembly said that the process was going on smoothly.
“Today I join a host of other party faithfuls to democratically vote for our flag bearer in the forthcoming bye election for Lagos East Senatorial District.
“The process is going on smoothly and Democracy is allowed to thrive and I am very sure that declared results will be a clear vindication that Democracy always wins” he said.
“While counting it a rear privilege to be among delegates for this history in the making, It is beyond conviction that I submit that whoever emerges winner has the capacity to take Lagos East Senatorial District to the next height.
“Power always belong to the people” Lamina said.
