Four aspirants will be vying for the Lagos East Senatorial ticket of the major opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the primary election slated to hold at the party’s secretariat, beside Pedro Police Station, Palmgrove, Shomlu on Saturday, September 5, 2020.
TThe Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ikorodu, Mr Femi Adinlewa, revealed this to THE IMPACT while speaking on the preparations by the party towards the primary election.
He said that four candidates have been screened and cleared for the primary election by the national secretariat of the party in Abuja.
Three of the candidates, Mr Olalere Gbadamosi, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi and Princess Saidat Odofin Fafowora, are from Ikorodu LGA, while the fourth, Mr Babatunde Olanrewaju Moshood, is from Epe LGA.
“Four Candidates have been screened and approved by the National Secretariat. They are Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi, Princess Saidat Odofin Fafowora and Babatunde Olanrewaju Moshood.
Adinlewa said that statutory delegates from all the five Local Governments across the Lagos East Senatorial District will converge on Kosofe LGA for the primary election to elect the candidate of the party for the Senatorial election.
“The primary election will hold in all the five INEC LGA Councils, wards”, Adinlewa said.
“It will hold in Kosofe LGA and all the LGAs will converge there with their delegates.
“Delegates that are expected from all the five LGAs for the primary election are: All party LGA officers in all the five LGAs; All Ward Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Youth and Women Leaders and Secretaries in all the five LGAs, including 3 ad – hoc delegates from each ward in all five LGAs”, he explained.
The party’s image maker in Ikorodu also told our reporter that the party is fully prepared for a hitch – free primary election.
“The party is well prepared for the primary election. We are just waiting for the arrival of the electoral committee from the National Secretariat”, he said.
