The Chairman of the Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina has stated that his administration is embarking on the rehabilitation of the Anibaba – Sholafun – Owode road because it is a very important road that links many major roads in Ikorodu.
He made the statement while flagging – off the surfacing of the road with interlocking stones on Friday, August 28, 2020.
The council has already completed the drainage system on both sides of the road which links the popular Anibaba to Ota – Ona/Awolowo Way, Igbogbo road and Adaraloye road.
Hon. Adeshina, while speaking at the flag – off, stated that the road is a very important one.
He stated that the flag – off event was an auspicious occasion while also thanking the generality of Ikorodu people for their support for his administration.
“Anibaba – Sholafun road is a link road to Igbogbo, Ota – Ona, Adaraloye roads among others which make it an important road that should be put in good condition. We are going to cover the road with interlock stones to make it motorable and achieve a better society.
“I am delighted to be in your midst once again today, to welcome you all to this auspicious occasion which marks the commencement of the official flag – off ceremony of the renovation /reconstruction of Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat and surfacing with interlocking stones of Sholafun – Anibaba Street, Ikorodu”, Hon. Adeshina said.
“I want to use this opportunity to appreciate the people of Ikorodu for their undivided support as partners in progress towards this noble administration.
“I wish to specially applaud your efforts for taking time out to be here despite the challenges of Coronavirus pandemic. May Almighty God continue to protect us all”.
He commended the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu, for the management of the pandemic since the outbreak of the ravaging virus.
He said that his administration has been able to impact positively on many aspects of the council since its inception.
Adeshina also assured that his administration will continue embarking on programmes that will better the living conditions of the people, while also seeking for continuous support of the residents.
“On our part as a Government, we have been able to impact the lives of our people positively in the areas of Works and Infrastructural, Public Health Care, Agriculture, Rural and Social Development, Education and Library Services among other achievements”, he said.
“The administration will continue to embark on projects that will have direct impact on the lives of the people of Ikorodu.
“I want to appeal to the good people of Ikorodu to continue to support and pray fervently for this administration to succeed, especially for more laudable programmes and projects”.
