Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has inaugurated the 12th Governing Council of the Lagos State Polytechnic to administer the affairs of the institution in the next four years.
In a release signed by Mr Lanre Kuye, the Director, Information and Public Relations, LASPOTECH, on Wednesday, 26th August, 2020, he stated that the chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Rasheed Kola Ojikutu, and seven other members of the Council were inaugurated.
Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, while speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the State house Alausa, Ikeja, urged the council members to see their appointment as a call to service for the advancement of tertiary education in the state.
The Governor also noted that their appointment came with a huge responsibility that must be discharged with a high level of integrity, foresight, and dedication.
”It is in the realisation of this that we have selected all of you here, professionals, professors, academicians, technocrats, businessmen and public officers, with a high level of integrity and competence and for having distinguished yourselves in your respective areas of specialisation and l have no doubt that we have chosen rightly,” the release stated.
According to the release, members of the Council are further advised to take their institution to greater height, as the state government would give all the assistance needed.
“We will give all the right encouragement and resources for you to do well; we will ensure you have all it takes to take technology and education to a higher level.”
Other members of the newly inaugurated Governing Council Members of the Polytechnic are: Dr. (Mrs.) Awonuga, Abiola Olawunmi, Bldr. Saabi Olakunle Alaba, Mr. Habeeb Aileru, Prince Olusegun Ogunlewe, Mrs. Iyabo Kuteyi, Mr Nurudeen Olaleye and Mrs Olayinka Babalola.
