Pastor Abayomi Adelakun, the CDC Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, speaking with THE IMPACT, said that the visit was meant to introduced the body that was elected last year to the traditional ruler and his chiefs since they have not been able to officially visit him due to the COVID – 19 pandemic.
“The purpose is just to visit the Oba because since we were elected last December, we have been unable to visit him to present ourselves because of the COVID – 19, but now that it has been relaxed and 50 people can gather, we sought the permission of the palace and we were granted permission to come”, Pastor Adelakun said.
“The visit also allowed us to familiarize ourselves with our monarch and his entire Council.
“The major problem that we are facing in Igbogbo is cultism which has not been giving us peace and without peace, there will be no development”, he stated while responding to a question on the challenges facing the community.
“These boys that are causing trouble are with us and people can identify them but unfortunately, people are not granting the security agencies necessary information about them.
“We also have problems with infrastructures, especially our roads. The state government is trying in this regard, particularly with the ongoing construction of the Igbogbo – Elepe road. But we have serious challenges with our inner roads. These are major problems that we are facing in Igbogbo”, he added.
