The Lagos State Government has extended the hours of operations of both food and non-food markets.
They are now to open at 8am and close at 6pm.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr Wale Ahmed, he said that the decision of the Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is to further enhance trade and commerce and also mitigate the hardship of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr Ahmed emphasised that the alternate days of operations still remains in force whereby food markets open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, while non food markets open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
He also urged all traders to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols for their safety and that of the citizenry at large.
