The full text of the release by the Conference 57, which is titled, ‘Conference 57 Mourns Bayo Osinowo’, reads thus:
“The entirety of the Lagos State Conference 57 Chairmen is deeply saddened to learn of the unfortunate demise of Senator Adebayo Osinowo whose sudden death places a heavy cloud of sorrow over our version of the history of democracy. His years of service, sacrifice to Lagosians and achievements as a firm progressive politician are priceless and irreplaceable.
“Senator Bayo lived his life as a staunch believer in the dream of good governance, adopting necessary measures to depict his passion, dedication and consistency as a critical member of the Lagos State political assembly.
“His involvement and sacrifices in the Political Space dated as far back in the early days of the struggle for democracy. He was always praised for his meritorious service during these periods, he was able to communicate his significant contributions, thereby, creating a positive impression as a key player whose values are essential to the installation of a successful political team.
“Between 2003 and 2019, he represented Kosofe Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, and once again, Senator Bayo committed his ideologies towards being an ideal leader. One who simply symbolised the mandate of the people whose voice was his sustenance and whose dreams he represented. He was a modern political player whose understanding and implementation of the values of representation earned him sufficient approval.
“Senator Bayo was an impeccable leader whose years of representation earned him a popular majority among Lagosians, for which reason he was rewarded with a chance to represent their values, again and this time in 2019 as a Senator in the upper Chamber of the National Assembly where he was the Chairman, Senate Committee on Industry, Commerce and Investment until his untimely death. He had so far demonstrated his credibility, diligence and industrious ethic, indicating the making of an excellent political figure.
“His intimacy and understanding of the needs of the people earned him the responsibility of not just a fatherly figure, but a great individual with a warm smile and a warmer demeanour. He was loyal to the principles of a greater Lagos and the bigger dream of a greater Nigeria, and the way he had lived his life reflected these ideologies.
“As people who were unconditionally accepted his warmth and generosity, it will require a good deal of strength to adjust to a political atmosphere without his presence. Pepperito, as he is fondly called, will be missed greatly.
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants him AL- JANNAH FIRDAUS…..
“We also join all Lagosians and Nigerians in sending our condolences to the Osinowos and pray to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss of their precious one”.
