Mr Olumide Metilelu has been appointed as the new acting Rector of the Lagos State Polytechnic after the expiration of the tenure of Mr Samuel Olayinka Sogunro today.
Metilelu, until his appointment, was the Deputy Rector (Academics) of the institution.
He will lead the affairs of the institution for three months after which the state government would announce a substantive candidate for the position.
THE IMPACT gathered that his appointment was ratified during a meeting in Alausa earlier today.
The government is also expected to constitute the Governing Council of the institution within the three months period.
Metilelu joined the service of the Polytechnic on the 20th of September, 2001, as Lecturer II and rose through the ranks to the position of a Chief Lecturer in February, 2017.
He hails from Imota, Ikorodu Division of Lagos State.
He was the Chief Lecturer, Hospitality Management Technology Department before he was appointed as Deputy Rector, (Academics) of the Polytechnic on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.
