The Lagos State Government on Tuesday announced that another COVID – 19 patient delivered twins at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
Today’s delivery made it four, the number of patients of the ravaging virus that delivered in LUTH.
The mother of the twins is a 22-year old lady.
Prof. Akin Abayomi, the state Commissioner for Health announcing the fourth delivery involving COVID – 19 patients on his twitter handle, said that the twins, a boy and a girl weight 3.25kg and 3.2kg respectively.
“Today, 19th May 2020 @LUTHofficial recorded the fourth delivery involving #COVID19 cases” HE SAID.
“The latest is the delivery of twin – (boy and girl) 3.25kg and 3.2kg respectively.
“The mother, 22 years lady tested positive to #COVID19 and was admitted
was admitted for treatment and necessary observations for the last stage of pregnancy.
“The delivery was carried out through successful Cesaerian Section by the medical team @LUTHofficial
.In another development, Lagos also announced the discharge of nine more Coronavirus patients after they tested negative for the virus twice.
The State Ministry of Health disclosed that those discharged included two female and seven male.
Making the disclosure on its twitter handle, it stated:
“9 #COVID19Lagos patients; 2 females & 7 males, all Nigerians have been discharged from our Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital Isolation facility to reunite with the society.
“The patients were discharged having fully recovered & tested negative to #COVID19 in two consecutive readings.
“This brings to 632, the number of confirmed #COVID19 cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos.
