-Residents ask LSWPC not to abandon Ikorodu Club to Okada junction part of the road.
Rehabilitation work has resumed on California/Ikorodu Club road in Aga area of Ikorodu Local Government at the weekend.
The lockdown to contain the spread of the Coronavirus had affected has largely affected rehabilitation work which the Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) started on Thursday, March 20, 2020, and reported by THE IMPACT.
A senior staff of LSPWC who is among the team working on the road had told our reporter earlier that the road would be fully rehabilitated to make it motorrable for motorists and other road users.
When our reporter visited the road on Monday, April 20, LSPWC workers had already covered the Ikorodu Club axis of the road with asphalt while work is still ongoing.
Meanwhile, residents of Aga are wondering whether the rehabilitation work by LSPWC would be extended to the Okada junction axis (the remaining part of the road) which is few metres away from the Ikorodu Club.
Some of the residents that spoke with our reporters stated that the surface of the road from Ikorodu Club to Okada junction was not touched when the workers were removing the damaged surface from California junction to Ikorodu Club about a month ago.
They have now expressed fear that the section of the road which also needs attention may be abandoned as the LSPWC workers once again refused to work on the area as they have already started putting asphalt on road from the Ikorodu Club axis.
