After the completion of the rehabilitation of Ireshe and Ikorodu-Oba Omolaja roads , the Lagos State Publc Works Corporation (LSPWC), on Thursday, March 20, 2020, commenced the rehabilitation of the California junction/Ikorodu road.
According to one of the senior LSPWC staff members working on the road, the road will be fully rehabilitated to make it motorrable for motorists and other road users.
He stated that they are currently filling the potholes and other damaged portions of the road after which they would cover it with asphalt.
The official also told our reporter that the rehabilitation work may stop at the Ikorodu Club axis and not extend to the Okada end of the road due to the experience they had with the boys in the neighbourhood about six years when the road was rehabilitated.
Our reporter was also told about what the officials of LSPWC went through in the hands of thugs who allegedly attacked them during the rehabilitation of Ita-Elewa/Ireshe/Ota Ona road about a month ago.
The officials said that they cannot afford to put the lives of their workers at risk again and would only extend the rehabilitation work beyond Ikorodu Club if police are on ground to protect them.
