Executive members of the Lagos State Polytechnic Alumni Association recently gathered for two days to hold a maiden Executive Retreat aimed at chatting ways of improving the association of former students of the only state Polytechnic in the state.
Present at the retreat, which was held at the Creekline hotel, Ijede in Ikorodu division, between February 14th and 15th, were all Ikorodu Branch executives as well as Executive Secretary and National officers who are members of Ikorodu Branch. Among these were Onaade Samsondeen (Chairman), Idris Adesina (Branch secretary), Hassan Temidayo (PRO), Abeebat Derinsola (Assistant General Secretary), Vivian Peletirin (Treasurer), Olorunfemi Adewumni (Welfare), Wasiu Ogungbo (National Executive Secretary) and Alhaji Anifowose Alade (National Ex-officio).
Former Deputy Rector of the Lagos State Polytechnic, Barr. Olasunkanmi Longe, who is an alumni of the institution, was the guest speaker at the memorable retreat.
He spoke about all-inclusive Alumni and the need to be involved in all school activities.
Highlights of issues discussed at the retreat are – membership drive, welfare, programmes and core mission, finance and Fund raising.
Speaking with THE IMPACT, the Public Relations Officer of LASPOTECH alumni association, Mr Hassan, stated that the retreat would be an annual event which would afford the executives to converge and discuss the progress of the association and the institution.
