The Lagos State Police Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr DSP Bala Elkana, has revealed to THE IMPACT that a special unit within the Police Force has taken over the matter involving missing 4year old Pamilerin Babatunde.
The missing child, who reside at N0 3, Agboola Street, Lambo– Lasunwon community, popularly called LASPOTECH First Gate, was declared missing on Sunday, February 16, 2019, and has not been seen since then while the matter has been reported at Shagamu Road Police Station in Ikorodu.
It was gathered that the transferring of the matter to a special unit may be connected with the protest of the family over the way and manner the police in Ikorodu are handling the case.
THE IMPACT reported earlier today that the family and neighbours of the missing girl had accused police of stalling investigation over the disappearance of the girl.
They alleged that police revealed information provided to them regarding Pamilerin’s mysterious disappearance and also refused to act on another one regarded as vital to the matter.
While returning our reporter’s call and SMS sent to him earlier in the morning, Mr Elkana stated that the family of the girl had called him and that the matter has been transferred to a special unit that would handle it.
“I received your message concerning a missing girl in Ikorodu. The family has also called and I can tell you that the matter has been transferred to a special unit.
“That is all that I can say for now. You know that I cannot divulge details of the investigation to you at this moment”, he told our reporter on phone.
Mr Agboola, who is acting on behalf of the mother and family of the missing girl, confirmed to THE IMPACT that he spoke with the Police PRO and that he gave assurance that the matter would be appropriately investigated.
