Commercial motorcycle riders today continued with their defiance against the temporary restriction on Ikorodu-Oba Omolaja (Igbogbo) road due to ongoing rehabilitation by the Lagos State Public Work Corporation (LSPWC), but the intervention of the officials of Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) brought the situation under control.
The council team was led by the Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Titilola Adegboyega who seen actively engaged in ensuring that nothing disturb the rehabilitation.
In his company were Hon. Wasiu Olowu,the Councilor representing Ward C2, Hon. Monsor Kolejo representing C5, Hon. Leke Ashafa, representing Ward C1, Mr Ade Bolowotan, Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Alhaji W. A Yusuf, A Supervisory Councilor, the Council Engineer and other officials.
Also seen with them was Mrs Funke Awoyemi, a community leader and social media commentator who supplied the Council officials with bottle water and soft drinks.
Some of the motorcycle riders that defied the restriction were seen arrested by the officials of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corp (LNSC).
Seized Okadas were later released to the ownners after several appeals.
The Vice Chairman and other officials were left monitoring the rehabilitation when our reporter left the location past 3.00 pm.
