Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala, who plays for Barcelona’s female team, has won the African Women’s Player Of The Year award.
Ikorodu – born Asisat with her fourth continental award in Hurghada, Egypt, Tuesday night, equaled former Falcons Striker Perpetual Nkwocha’s African Women’s Players of the year award.
She picked the award ahead of Ajara Nchout of Cameroon and Thembi Kgatlana of South Africa.
In 2019, Oshoala made headlines for Barcelona Femení and became the first African to score in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final.
She also scored a goal at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup to help Nigeria reach the knockout stages of the tournament.
