Waves Media, owner of the Waves magazine and Waves Gist Zone, a campus radio programme, will on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, launch WavesPlus, a television show for family and youths, on Lagos Television (LTV).
The 30 minutes TV programme which, according to the Chief Executive Officer of Waves Media, Mr Azeez Bolaji Lamina, is going to be entertaining, educative and informatIve, is geared towards bringing back the lost family time watching TV programmes.
WavesPlus, which will hits the LTV waves between 11.30am – 12 noon Tuesday, January 7, 2020, would also be aired on DSTV Channel 256, GOTV Channel 90 and Startimes Channel 104 every Tuesdays.
Unveiling the brand and logo for the TV Show at a media parley held at the Ikorodu office of the media outfit, Mr Lamina stated:
“We are excited to announce the newest and latest inclusion to the Waves Media brand, a television programme named WAVESPLUS. WavesPlus is a 30 minutes edutainment magazine show that has different segments that would whet the appetite of viewers and keep them on the edge of their seats” , he stated
“Our goal is to bring back the lost family time watching TV programmes that are entertaining, educating and informative. We have carefully designed our various segments to meet the need and expectation of the various demography of the society. Our programme is healthy for every age grade of the society”.
According to the young media CEO, some of the contents designed for the family and youths are Wavespreneur, a segment where hardworking and daring “Youthful and Useful” Nigerians who are doing very fine in their various chosen field of endeavors are celebrated, WavesondaStreetz which would be basically focusing on Lagosians on social issues that affect them and hearing their perspectives.
Lamina also added that: “WavesPersonality profile is designed to inspire family, especially youths, and encourage them to dedicate themselves towards achieving greatness by using established young people in various fields who have achieved to serve as point of reference to them.
“Other segments that would be featured are MovieWaves, Hit Song of the Week and Wavestrivia all of which have been cooked together to keep our viewers entertained, informed and educated”.
He added that programmes on WavesPlus would be engaging and interactive in nature in other to carry the target audience along on every programme that would be brought to them in their various homes and on mobile phones.
“Aside TV stations where WavesPlus will be aired to our audiences, there are also various social media platforms – facebook, Instagram, twitter and others that we have slid presence and we are also going to be engaging our audiences”, Lamina stated.
“We have about 40, 000 viewers on our Instagram alone and you can imagine how huge that is and the number of youths that we are going to be reaching with our contents”.
He also hinted on the company’s plan to extend their TV contents to other stations in the country.
“As time goes on, we intend to extend WavesPlus to other TV stations and cable networks hopefully by the next quarter in order to achieve more eyeballs for our supporting brands and other brands willing to advertise using the credibility of our programmes”.
While calling on brands to support the edutainment contents through adverts, Lamina also added that :
“WavesPlus is a new brand of Waves Media, aside Waves magazine and Waves Gist Zone that are designed to help brands and businesses out there achieve feasibilities on our platforms.
