The panel constituted about two weeks ago by the Governor of Lagos State and Moderator to the Lagos State Polytechnic, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has requested for the submission of memoranda from stakeholders in the institution and members of the public.
The Visitation Panel will look into the protracted crisis bedeviling Lagos State Polytechnic as a result of persistent trade issues between the Governing Council of the institution/management and three staff unions.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Education (OSAE), Mr Tokunbo Wahab, made the composition of the panel public about two weeks ago on his twitter media handle.
According to the OSAE, the Visitation Panel was constituted to unravel both the immediate and remote causes of the lingering crisis in the Polytechnic.
Members of the of visitation panel, as constituted by the State Government, are : Mr Ibilowo Afolayan – (Chairman), Mrs Labinjo Omotayo (Member), Mr Adedoyin Adeleke (Member), Engineer Tunde Faleye (Member), Mr Banjo Lateef (Member and Officer of the Special Adviser on Education); Mrs Sunmonu (Member) and Adepeju Fadekemi (Member).
Others are Office of the Special Adviser on Education; Mr Jabitta Wasiu Sunkanmi (Secretary), Representative from the Office of the HOS (Member), Representative from the Ministry of Establishment and Training (Member), Representative from the Civil Service Commission (Member) and the Representative from the Ministry of Justice (Member).
A release, signed by the panel’s secretary, Mr Jabitta Wasiu Sunkanmi, states that ;
“The Visitation Panel invites relevant stakeholders and members of the Public with information, issues and recommendation(s) relevant to the development of the Polytechnic, to submit memoranda to the Visitation Panel in soft and hard copies with names and relevant contacts addressed to:
“The Secretary, Visitation Panel to LASPOTECH 2019, Front Desk, Pubic Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Magodo, Lagos or Through email address: [email protected]”.
According to the release, stakeholders and members of the public are expected to submit their memoranda within three weeks of the publication of the release (25th November – 13th December, 2019).
