For the second day running, academic and non-academic staff unions of the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu main campus brought to hold all activities on campus, with the three entrances in and out of the institution shut.
The protesting staff members were protesting over salary arrears and de-migration of their salary structure.
THE IMPACT gathered that the renewed strike that paralysed academic and administrative activities was caused by the decision of the management to pay the salaries of the academic staff members and withheld that of the non-academic staff members of the institution.
It was also alleged that some of the academic staff that were paid received negative net pay, this we gathered further aggravated the workers anger.
When our reporter visited the campus today, several students were seen climbing the institution’s fence to gain access into the campus
Banking operations on the campus were also affected as many residents within the institution’s environment were seen at the gate complaining about their inability to transact business in the three banks situated within the institution’s premises.
We gathered that the Rector, management staff members and some union leaders
