The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday 14 presented certificates of return to Senators and members of House of Representatives-elect.
Three Senators-elect from Lagos State; Sen. Bayo Osinowo, Sen. Remi Tinubu and Sen. Adeola Solomon, representing Lagos East, Central and West Senatorial Districts respectively, were among the newly elected federal lawmakers across the country that received their Certificates of Return at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
Also presented with Certificates of Return were the newly elected members of the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
The senators-elect were called state by state to collect their certificates from officials of the electoral body.
Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC Chairman, speaking at the ceremony, enjoined the elected lawmakers of the 9th National Assembly to start work on the electoral reforms when they resume for plenary sessions in order to enhance the work of the electoral body.
The INEC boss stated the reforms would help the commission in conducting free, fair and credible elections.
