The four term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Lagos East Senatorial District, Hon. Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo, has secured the majority votes in Ikorodu.
He polled 42, 770 votes to beat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate and daughter of former Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Princess Oyeniran who got 20, 382 votes.
Other results declared in Ikorodu for the Senatorial election are A – 79 votes, AAC – 15 votes, ACD – 65 votes, AD – 204 votes, ADC – 464 votes, ADP – 332 votes, CAP – 45 votes, DPP – I47 votes, ID – 10 votes, KP – 44 votes, AA – 60 votes, APP – 6 votes, UDC – 2 votes, LPC – 1 votes, YDP – 18 votes, ADA – 1 votes,, APDA – 4 votes and MPN – 52 votes among others.
The total number of registered voters for the Senatorial election in the 19 wards is 320, 646, while 73, 830 voters were accredited for the election and the election recorded 65, 046 as valid votes.
A total of 66, 768 votes were cast for the Senatorial election with 1, 722 votes rejected.
The Senatorial Collation Officer for Ikorodu, Dr Bidemi Akindele, an Associate Professor, while declaring the results at 4. 45pm, stated that the result declared was based on the performances of the candidates in the senatorial election held in Ikorodu on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
“That is the results of the Senatorial election based on the performances of the candidates.
“This result will be taking to the senatorial district to be added to other results from other parts of the district before the announcement of the final result”.
All the party agents present at the INEC office signed the result sheet without any protest.
