SARS Arrest Rice Thieves Gang Leader In Ibadan

Tope Faleye, a.k.a ‘Eniba’ and Gbenga Osibanjo, a.k.a ‘Biggie’ suspected robbers nabbed by Onyabo Vigilance Group in Ikorodu

A man, identified as Ayomide (a.ka. ‘Dublin’), who is an indigne of Ijebu -Mushin in Ogun State and the alleged ring leader of the gang that specializes in breaking into rice shops in Lagos and Ogun States, has been arrested in an hotel in Ibadan.

 

THE IMPACT gathered that his location was revealed by the F-SARS tracker.

 

We gathered that the man, who is said to be very handsome, confessed to all the operations his boys had confessed to when they were nabbed in Ikorodu.

 

Two of his boys, Tope Faleye (a.k.a Eniba) and Gbenga Osibanjo, 21(a.k.a ‘Biggie), were arrested by the operatives of the local vigilance group in Ikorodu, Onyabo, on Sunday, January 20, 2019, and had helped the police with useful information that led to the arrest of their leader.

They were nabbed by members of Onyabo after breaking into a shop at Ajina in Ikorodu around 3a.m on Sunday, January 20, 2019, and carted away over 60 bags of rice, beans and over N200, 0000 belonging to Alhaja Balikis Oluguna, popularly known as ‘Iya Isila’.

 

Both suspects confessed in an interview with our reporter that they had also robbed in Ijebu-Igbo, Ibafo and Abeokuta.

 

We also gathered that Ayomide, after his arrest, had made useful confession to the police which could assist in recovering the stolen bags of rice.

 

A reliable source informed THE IMPACT that Ayomide also confessed to the police that he’s the gang leader of the syndicate and that they only stole 55 bags of rice and beans and not 65 as earlier reported.

 

THE IMPACT equally learnt that the suspect admitted that his boys also stole money from Alhaja Oluguna’s shop but could not ascertain the actual amount.

 

Furthermore, our source disclosed that Ayomide told the police that his boys could possibly have removed part of the money before handling it over to him after the operation.

Our investigation, however, revealed that Ayomide usually sold each of the stolen bags of rice, which cost N18, 000 in the market, at N8500 to a buyer at Ibafo

 

According to report, police are presently making efforts to recover the stolen items from where they were sold.
